This guerrilla project was carried out to transform urban spaces—often limited to simple passageways—into places where people can pause, stay, and rest.
Despite its beautiful setting, with the historic post office building and lush greenery, the nearby park was rarely used by citizens. To invite people to experience this public space differently, the project created an environment where meaningful rest was not only possible but encouraged.
Citizens freely used the space: taking naps, eating meals, having conversations. After their time there, they were invited to write on a postcard about the time they had spent in the space, which would be mailed to them days later. This small gesture, inspired by the symbolic location in front of the ancient post office, allowed participants to relive and remember their brief moment of rest in the city.
The project, titled “Time Spent, Space Shared”, was part of the Public Design Day at the Public Design Festival, and was carried out in collaboration with public campaigner Jelly Jang.
