This project guided young people through a process of discovering local issues, exploring possible solutions, and taking direct action to address them. During their neighborhood exploration, members of a youth club at the Cheonan Youth Center noticed chairs placed by residents in various spots. After discussing and investigating why these chairs were needed, the youth discovered that users of a nearby free meal service lacked enough places to sit and eat. They also agreed that a comfortable resting space for the elderly was necessary. In response, the youth designed, built, and installed benches and tables that could be shared by multiple people in a small park next to the free meal center.
